A 1960 Ford Thunderbird at the 2010 Rotterdam Elks car show....

The Porsche 968 was developed as an entry-level car to replace the 944, and was produced for just a few years(1992-1995). A noticeable difference between this and the 944 it replaced is the lack of flip-up headlights. The year after this went out of production, the Boxster took over as the entry-level Porsche and remains in production to this day.

A very rare 1934 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300, one of 188 built from 1931 to 1934, at the Saratoga Auto Museum. This is one of the very few cars which was able to compete with Bugattis with success, and they were the choice of most of Italy’s most talented drivers of the day. The design of this car is absolutely beautiful, and really has to be seen in person to fully appreciate.

A ‘66 Pontiac GTO. These were highly innovative cars at the time, and were powered either by a 389 or 400 c.i. V-8, making them a force to be reckoned with at the drag strip. Another interesting feature of these cars is that Pontiac decided to produce the nose of the car out of rubber in an effort to improve safety.

They were mostly purchased to be used as taxis or police cars.

A Chevelle and a ‘61 ‘Vette at the Adirondack Nats.

A 1967 Camaro SS at the Adirondack Nats. This show is just indescribably awesome. The 2000 car show field sells out around 355 days in advance, and as a result the entire town of Lake George and every hotel parking lot in a 45 minute radius becomes one massive car show. This car was spotted about 2 miles away from the show on the outskirts of Lake George Village, and you can see the hotel lots in

A 2010 Alfa Romeo 8c Competizione Spyder at Saratoga. There aren’t a whole lot of these in the U.S., as Alfa has not yet made a full-scale return to the states yet. The first of these sold went to James Glickenhaus, who is famous for commissioning the Ferrari P4/5 and P4/5C one-offs based on the Enzo. 0-60 comes in a bit over 4 seconds courtesy of a Ferrari/Maserati developed 4.7 liter V-8.
